DSLRs that shoot HD video have snuck up on us and changed absolutely everything. Even with all their faults and awkward ergonomics, they have changed the video camera landscape forever.

I hated shooting with small sensor cameras as everything is in focus, and I was not alone. Before HDSLR cameras came out, we would try to trick out cameras into thinking they had large sensors by using 35mm adapters, but they were clunky, heavy, and needed a lot of light—but the results were good. Then out of nowhere, two DSLR cameras came out, and over a period of 18 months, they have been embraced by everyone from Lucasfilm to keen enthusiasts dabbling with video over the weekend.
