I’m sitting in a little coffee shop in Owen Sound, Canada, across from city hall. From where I’m sitting, I can see the ramp leading into city hall and the curb cuts at the corner, and on my way here I waited at a set of lights that tweets when it’s safe to walk, in tune to the direction of traffic. Even in this tiny city three hours from anywhere, the physical world is becoming more accessible. The little features we’ve come to expect in the built world are visibly obvious.
