Chapter 4. Methodology Developing Drucker-Based Strategies

Drucker's views on strategy were quite different from those taught by others. He did not believe in using "portfolio management" or quantitative methods for developing strategy. He never taught such methods in the classroom and a review of his published writings reveals little along these lines. Drucker believed that it was important to approach every situation individually, with common sense and a sense of history. Drucker, although a self-proclaimed "non-historian," used historical examples to illustrate his concepts.
