Chapter 10. Troubleshooting CSS

Since Cascading Style Sheets are the most important technology in a web designer’s toolkit, it makes sense that many of the hair-pulling problems designers encounter relate to CSS. CSS offers many opportunities to make drab HTML beautiful, but the more beautiful your web pages, the more complex your CSS. Adding to the confusion, different browsers can display CSS differently—this is especially true with the ancient, but still widely used Internet Explorer 6.

In this chapter, we’ll look at some of Dreamweaver’s tools for diagnosing CSS problems, as well as common problems you’ll encounter as you build the kinds of CSS layouts discussed in the previous chapter.
