A book about drawing and urban design has to cover a broad range of methods of expression, and the case studies in the preceding pages have been included to exemplify the many ways in which the city can be described. While the key skill of hand-drawing, which requires sensitivity and an enquiring mind, is still essential in the new world of expression and representation, the future for drawing our cities will also involve the use of sophisticated software to create two-dimensional visuals, three-dimensional animations, and even virtual experiences of city environments.
