Surfaces & Textures

Avariety of techniques can be used to render the surfaces and textures found in landscapes. Use a razor blade or knife to sharpen leads into chiseled, uneven, or jagged points; these points create unique lines, textures, and patterns. To vary the line thickness, try changing the direction of your strokes, as well as the angle at which you hold the pencil.
