DAISY

When drawing very pale subjects, artists often use negative space, or the space around the subject, to describe the object itself. In this case, the blue sky is what really gives shape and identity to the daisy’s petals. Because the flower is white, much of its color is derived from its surroundings. Using the blues and greens from the sky and the leaves gives the flower its shape and keeps the subject tied into its environment.
