Inspired by Nature
FOR THE PAST EIGHT YEARS, I’ve lived in a small mountain town in central Colorado. A lot of artists live and work here, and I would say most of them are either landscape painters or are highly inspired by the beautiful scenery around us.
I’m also inspired by nature, but in a different way. When I go for walks, instead of looking up at the mountains and views around me, I’m looking down beneath my feet. Rocks, plants, dirt . . . these are the things I am drawn to the most! Even when skiing, I have to force myself to look up, instead focusing more on the twinkling of the snow beneath my feet.
