Inspired by Children and Childhood

I LOVE KIDS’ ART. I love everything about it—the unsteady lines, the tadpole people, the lack of perspective, and the revealing family portraits. Children’s art makes me smile.

When we were children, drawing was natural and joyful. We could probably draw before we could speak, scribbling away, happy just making marks on the page. Unfortunately, around third grade, the freedom to simply draw for fun wanes as we are taught that there might be a “right” and “wrong” way to draw.
