You can improve your skills by drawing a variety of fruit with different shapes and textures. Try making interesting arrangements of fruit to draw from. Apples have a smooth, shiny surface and a simple shape, so they are relatively easy to draw. When arranging items for a still life model, place the objects so that no two are in the same position. For example, lay one on its side or place one behind the other. Also note that an odd number of subjects usually makes the most pleasing arrangement, or composition.
