Racehorse & Jockey

This closeup drawing of a horse and jockey was completed with brush and ink. First use an HB pencil to block in the horse’s head, and then develop the jockey’s pose. Be sure to correctly establish the action and rhythm of the horse and rider, as well as the horse’s expression, before applying the ink.

When blocking in the jockey, be sure to indicate the exaggerated leg position used for racing.
