Textures provide vital information about your drawing subjects, such as whether their surfaces are smooth, shiny, rough, or fuzzy. You need to draw textures as realistically as you can to create the illusion that an animal is furry, a human face is smooth, or an eye is glistening. You can even get creative and have fun with textures by drawing something unexpected like a fluffy snake.
