Marker

Marker is an obvious choice of color medium for creating theatrical renderings. Like colored pencils, they are clean, portable, vibrantly colored, and intuitive to use. The medium is versatile enough to mimic both the translucent washes attainable with watercolor paints, and the opacity, if not the texture, of acrylic paints. Like watercolor, you can cover large areas of paper quickly, but still create fine details such as intricate fabric patterns. Art markers are available in dozens of different hues. Chances are good that, provided you have a large set of markers, you will find exactly the right color you need, eliminating the need to mix color. This really speeds up the rendering process.
