2.5. Summary

This chapter covered a great deal of information regarding several installation options for DotNetNuke. You learned how to prepare multiple environments for installation, as well as several different installation options within DotNetNuke. You may be restricted by things, such as using your existing operating system (version of Windows). Therefore, mixing the components of the examples to match your purpose, operating system, available database, and DotNetNuke installation mode will give you the tools necessary for a successful installation.

One thing that is not a restriction to installing DotNetNuke, and in fact encourages many people to evaluate it for their use, is that the DotNetNuke application may be downloaded free of charge and with no licensing or usage fee.
