7.1. Problem

Many users fall short when it comes to using modules effectively. There are many modules included with DNN out-of-the-box, and although DNN makes it easy to add and edit content via modules, it is not always clear which modules are the best choice for every situation. For example, do you use the Media module or the Text/HTML module to add an image? The answer is. . .it depends. The module choices you make, and the way you configure them for the website solution, will determine the level of effort required to maintain the content within your website on an ongoing basis. But, in many cases, users don't make optimal choices simply because of their inexperience with DNN.

If understanding which modules are the appropriate modules to use at any given time isn't enough, the way you configure them can make a tremendous difference in the ease and efficiency at which the content within the website can be updated and/or maintained.

Yet another problem many users face is making content look professional. Even though users may get accustomed to using the various modules included with DNN, it can be challenging to make content look great throughout the website. Of course, skin and containers can be created as needed when new presentation requirements are defined.
