4.2. Design

This section focuses on using Photoshop 7+ to prepare the MBR Design look and feel for conversion into a DNN skin package and create the actual graphics required for the design. This section also focuses on using Dreamweaver 8+ to create the actual HTML, CSS, and XML files that are required for the MBR Design skin package. The objective of this chapter is to show you, at a low level, how to create a skin package from start to finish. Therefore, it is assumed that you have some working knowledge of Photoshop and Dreamweaver. In this chapter you learn:

  • How to use Photoshop to prepare and organize MBR Design skin design using layers and layer sets

  • How to use Photoshop to create slices and save all of the necessary images used in the MBR Design skins

  • How to use Dreamweaver to create all of the necessary HTML, CSS, and XML component files required for the MBR Design skin package

As I just mentioned, you will learn the basic skinning process from start to finish while building all of the necessary components required for an HTML-based DNN skin package. After you complete this chapter, you will package and install the skin package on the MBR Design website. But before you can install the skin package, you need to build it. So let's get a move on!
