Introduction

At times, I have wondered why there are so many after-market books about software products that, at least occasionally, come with perfectly clear and well-written documentation. Take Lotus Notes and Domino, for example. The "yellow books" are very well-organized, well-written, and much more complete than any book I could write on administering Domino servers.

Well, okay, I admit that I really don't wonder for long. The reasons are obvious. For one, not everyone agrees with me about the quality of included documentation. For another, some of the concepts just need more than one explanation. For yet another, as well written as is documentation such as the yellow books, it is still incomplete, and inevitably so.
