Using Database Tools
Lotus recommends that you perform certain database maintenance tasks on a regular basis. Table 14.1 lists these tasks by the recommended frequency:

| Daily | Monitor replication for databases that replicate |
| Daily (by default at 1:00 a.m.) | Keep databases that inherit design from master templates in sync with the templates by running the Designer task |
| Daily (by default at 2:00 a.m.) | Update all views and full-text indexes by running the Updall task |
| Daily for large active databases; Weekly for other databases | Check for and consolidate replication or save conflicts |
| Occasionally | Monitor the database cache |
| Weekly | Monitor database activity |
