HC Subscriptions

The Notes R5 client enables users to set up subscriptions that advise them of specific changes to a database. Users may choose to be advised of all new or modified documents in a database or just those meeting specific criteria. The criteria can be based on a selection formula or by selecting from Author, Subject, and/or Size.

Possible performance issues exist for databases having large numbers of users subscribing. Because Notes will automatically check for new messages matching the criteria of the user's subscription, each subscription adds overhead to the system. By default, the Notes client checks subscriptions at startup and each time the client checks for new mail. These choices are selectable in User Preferences. ...
