Database Security

After a user has passed through the server-level security barriers, he next has to pass through a series of database-level security measures. Database security includes the following aspects:

  • The database access control list

  • Form, view, and document security

  • Section and field security

  • Local database encryption

A user's broadest possible rights of access to the contents of a database are set forth in each database's access control list. The other security features listed here serve to limit a user's rights even further, not to broaden them.
