Planning for Mail Routing

To set up mail routing, you have to first make decisions about how and when mail should route, then you have to carry out your decisions. Over time, as circumstances change or you realize your initial decisions aren't working out as well as you hoped, you may have to change the way mail routes. The decisions that relate to mail routing are as follows:

  • How many Notes domains there should be and how they should relate to each other.

  • How many Notes named networks there should be and how they should relate to each other.

  • How and to what extent your Notes domain(s) will transfer mail to and receive it from other mail domains, both Notes and non-Notes, and especially Internet mail domains.
