Setting Up a Workstation for Shared Use

Some Notes users don't sit in front of a computer all day and don't even have a computer to call their own. They share a computer with one or more other users like themselves and sit down at it periodically to pick up email or update databases that they use. There are several ways to set up a Notes workstation so multiple uses can share it. Here are some ways:

  • Set up multiple complete copies of Notes on the computer, one for each user.

    Pros: Easy to set up. Each user has his own identity.

    Cons: Uses lots of disk space.

  • Set up one copy of Notes but multiple sets of data folders, one set for each user.

    Pros: Uses less disk space than the first scheme. Users still have their own identities.
