Setting Up Replication

In order for the new server and existing servers in a Domino domain to work with each other, they must be able to share information with each other. Each server must know the names of the other servers. Each server must be able to determine how to contact the other servers. Each server needs to know what services the other servers provide.

The servers keep track of each other by jointly maintaining a series of databases in which they store this information. That is, all servers in a domain maintain local copies of a set of databases, including the Domain Directory, the Administration Requests database, and others.
