Get a Taste of Indian Village Life

Don’t leave India without spending at least some time in a village, to get familiar with the real heart of India. It isn’t hard to find a village—you have about 500,000 to choose from! You have to do without air conditioners, and you may not have access to shopping malls, but in an Indian village, you get to know the meaning of extended family, and you can see how life revolves around agriculture. Every member of the family, the little ones included, pitches in and does his share.

Enjoy the authentic tastes of India, too. The piping hot, freshly cooked, simple meals are enjoyable and the welcoming nature of families makes you feel at home. As a bonus, you may also forge friendships that last a lifetime.

To arrange a trip to a village, consult your Indian colleagues or friends. Ask them for a recommendation on a good village to visit, and the best mode of transportation for getting there. And then enjoy folk theater, music, and dance, join in traditional art and craft making, and witness the incredibly gifted side of India.
