Establishing Your Expert Position

If you’ve been reading the other sections in this chapter, you know that helping your Indian team get over their shyness and getting them to become active participants in a training program are important, but just as crucial is the process of establishing yourself as an expert at the very start of training.

Your employees need to know that you’re the boss and that what you say is important and should be taken to heart. Then your staff should apply your wisdom when they resume daily operations. Otherwise your Indian team may kid around a bit too much or start getting wordy with their responses to your questions.
