Following Up on Training

As with any good training program, you need to follow up early and often with your Indian team after the training sessions are over. Because of other habits they developed while rising through the Indian educational system, such as not thinking out of the box or going beyond the scope defined, your employees probably won’t continue to discover more about their jobs unless you build in follow-up mechanisms to help them along.

You can effectively follow up on your training sessions in many ways:

Send out group e-mails featuring a communication-focused newspaper column to continually remind the employees of the importance of the material covered during training.
Point your employees to Web sites or books that emphasize the main points of the training.
Have a refresher hour to recap what had been taught and discuss how the team has applied their new knowledge since the training session.
