There are many useful books out there for learning how to modify cars. The following books are ones that I have found very useful to beginners and apply to many different sorts of cars.

Bell, Corky. Maximum Boost. Cambridge, MA: Bentley Publishers, 1997.

Written in a conversational style, this guide to turbocharging contains a fair amount of practical tips and descriptions of turbo installations.
