Tire Types

Tires come in several varieties, each suited to a different purpose. Which tires to use will depend on how much performance you need, how long you expect the tires to last, the ride quality you want, and how much you can afford.

All-season touring tires are your basic, everyday tires. They are designed for a long tread life; a comfortable ride; and the ability to handle rain, mud, snow, and other hazards. Many accomplish this at a reasonable price, too. Their downside is that they are not designed for maximum traction. If you want your car to be an all-out handling machine, these just aren’t adequate.
