A Better Spark

Different cars respond differently to ignition mods. Lightly tweaked modern cars often do not benefit from any ignition upgrades other than using top-quality spark plugs and wires. A heavily modified engine may need changes to the computer to alter the timing settings, and adding forced induction can sometimes mean a car will need a more powerful ignition module. Older cars may benefit from having all or part of the features of newer ignition systems swapped over. Many owners consider the reduced maintenance alone enough to make removing breaker points worthwhile.
