Track Days

Those looking for more speed, but not quite ready to race wheel to wheel, can go to race tracks like Laguna Seca or Road Atlanta to participate in a variety of open track events. These typically run cars one at a time on a road course, often with an instructor in the passenger seat. Speeds are often higher than at an autocross, and there is considerably more danger of hitting something solid if you lose control. Drivers often are required to wear a racing fire suit, and depending on the event, cars may need to have an approved roll cage and other safety equipment installed.
