Place titles below tables

Place table captions below tables rather than above, which is the default.

By default, the PDF plugin places table titles above the table. It would be great if it were as easy to move them under the table as it is to move figure titles (see Place titles above images), but it isn’t. Here’s what you need to do.

  1. Add the following to custom.xsl (xsl) after all of the xsl:import statements:
    <xsl:template match="*[contains(@class,' topic/table ')]/*[contains(@class,' topic/title ')]" />

    By default, the PDF plugin processes the title before the rest of the table because title precedes tgroup within the table element. Therefore, the default is to place the title above the table. This line blocks that order-based processing. ...
