Project “SOLARTECH SUD,” Solar Eco-Village Zarzis - Djerba Tunisia

The Djerba Zarzis eco-village project revolves around four main components as part of an integrated approach: the technological component, training, farming and eco-industrial component.

The construction of the first eco-solar village promoted by Solartech covers an area of 160 ha and an estimated cost between 130 million and 160 million Tunisian dinars.

The project’s main objectives are:

• Make renewable energy, particularly solar energy, a lever for sustainable development of southeast Tunisia.

• Develop areas of expertise: renewable energy (particularly solar), desalination of water (especially seawater) and organic farming.
