About the Authors

Kai Hwang is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Southern California. Presently, he also serves as an Intellectual Venture-endowed Visiting Chair Professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He earned his Ph.D. in EECS from University of California at Berkeley in 1972. He has taught at Purdue University for 12 years prior to joining USC in 1985. Hwang has served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing for 26 years. He is a world-renowned scholar and educator in computer science and engineering.
