Chapter 13. Coming Up with Alternatives and Solutions

Once you’ve defined your problem, and are willing to work it through and consider alternative solutions, how do you find those alternatives? This chapter can help you by describing two key methods: brainstorming and looking within. You can brainstorm alone or with others, following a few rules to freely generate ideas. When you look within, you ask your inner expert for suggestions. Both methods help you maximize your creativity and apply it to finding a resolution by giving you a long list of alternative solutions to choose from. These methods can also be used to confirm—or reject—ideas you already have.
