Chapter 9: The Ceremony
The ceremony is what the whole wedding is about. All the preparation, all the work, all the planning, everything leads up to this moment. Your job as a wedding photographer is to make sure you capture the ceremony in its entirety. This includes setting the scene with exterior shots, like those shown in Figures 9-1 and 9-2, before everything starts, and shooting the processional, the bride being escorted down the aisle, the exchange of the vows and the rings, any special moments during the ceremony, and the couple walking back up the aisle together as man and wife. Capturing each of these moments begins with good preparation.

ABOUT THESE PHOTO Two very different wedding locations, Figure 9-1 was taken in the tropical outdoor setting in the Bahamas taken at ISO 100, f/7.1 and 1/500 second, while Figure 9-2 was shot in the interior of the Indiana Statehouse taken at ISO 800, f/5.6, and 1/125 second. Both were captured before the ceremony started.
