Choosing Photos and Placing Your Portfolio Online

When you assemble the start of your portfolio, you want to get it online so you can begin to establish your credibility as a photographer. In the following sections, I go over a few guidelines to consider before showing off your portfolio, along with a brief overview of a few places you can display it on the Internet.

Putting your best work forward

remember.eps As you sort through your photos and decide which would be best to include in your portfolio, keep in mind that your portfolio is only as strong as your weakest picture. If your portfolio remains relatively small after selecting only your best work, that’s okay! You can add to it as you photograph more often. A small portfolio with only great images is much better than a large portfolio with so-so images. As you select pictures to display, consider the following factors:
