Examining Your Options

When it comes to sharing your photos with your clients, you have multiple options (seems like a running theme in photography, doesn’t it?). In the following sections, I go over the two most popular options: sending your clients a DVD of images or sharing the photos via online galleries. Though you can certainly give your clients a DVD as well as an online gallery, most photographers only offer one option because offering both is more work. However, you’re free to run your business in a way that makes sense to you, so if you want to offer both options to your clients, go for it!

The pros and cons of burning images onto a DVD

The first option you have available to you is to burn a DVD of all your client’s high-resolution images and send them off in the mail. This method has a few advantages:

check.png If you send a DVD with a nice cover, you can include it as part of a branded package with a note to the couple thanking them for the opportunity to do their wedding along with a few of your business cards. This package can give you and your business a personal touch and may encourage the couple to recommend you to others.
