Assignment 14Vantage Point and Point of View

Purpose: To Show the Difference between Vantage Point and Point of View.

Part 1

  • Use a slightly wide-angle lens, approximately 28mm to 35mm.
  • Find a friend—if you don’t have a friend, buy somebody lunch. After lunch have them sit on the ground.
  1. Lie on your back in front or slightly to one side of them and get as close as you can. Focus on your subject’s eyes and photograph them from a worm’s-eye view.
  2. Kneel in front of them so that your camera is level with their eyes. Have them look directly into the lens. Focus on their eyes and photograph them from their eye level.
  3. Remain kneeling and repeat #2, only this time have them look anywhere except ...
