The Recording Studio and Beyond

We have already seen how advances in plug-ins and software used commonly for ordinary recording, and production processes have made certain tasks in restoration much more accessible (such as the developments in Melodyne leading to Capstan). The two worlds of restoration and production/recording are, then, very closely linked, and this isn’t really surprising, given the similarities in the technology and procedures involved. But, before we finish up the section, I thought it might be good to look more at the restorative and other uses of the tools and procedures that we have been talking about.
