14. Gelatin Transfer to Metal

Have you ever walked along the ocean shore and noticed the effects of salt water on metal? Water, salt, and minerals all work in concert to create organic stains and patterns on the surface. Or have you ever seen an old barn’s tin roof? Sun, rain, and snow also combine to give these objects a unique character—the signature of Mother Nature if you will. These surfaces inspired me to find a way to accelerate time and make my own antiquities for use in my artwork.
