13. Travertine Tile Transfer
Artists seem to enjoy merging high-tech with high-touch, and there’s no better project for this than the travertine tile transfer. In this project, I will show you how to place your digital images directly onto natural rough tiles. Given the size of most tiles, this is an excellent project if you only have access to a desktop printer.
I like to select images that will complement the organic, earthy texture and color of the tiles. An old sepia photograph of a building or mountain would work well. Still life images can also be interesting, or even photographs of archeological sites or ancient ruins.
