This chapter discusses the five most popular dietary supplements used for sports and weight management. These include protein powders for building muscle; energy drinks and hydration drinks for running faster, longer, and recovering faster after sport; and garcinia cambogia (GC) and green coffee bean extract for weight loss. We will discuss the sources, traditional uses, manufacturing, and consumption of the products. We will review the research that might be used to determine their efficacy as well as their safety.
