The prerequisites for this tutorial is an IBM cloud account (free trial) and knowledge of Node.js (which we have used throughout the book). We will be starting with a simple example first and then move towards applying automation to the tutorial code as we go on with the chapter. So, let's create a simple hello world application with Node.js on the user interface of IBM Bluemix Cloud and then execute/invoke it.
