A

abbreviation. A shortened form of a word or phrase, used in place of the whole. Unlike acronyms, abbreviations can end in a period and might not be all uppercase. For example, Calif. is an abbreviation for California.

abstract. (noun) A brief summary of the main points that are in a document or presentation. (adjective) A characteristic of information in which concept, task, or reference topics are presented as theoretical and unrelated to real experience.

accessibility. In information technology, accommodations to enable people with disabilities (such as those that affect vision, hearing, mobility, and attention) to use computer software and hardware.

accuracy. Freedom from mistake or error; adherence to fact or truth.
