image Removing all Hyperlinks from Word

If you select and copy text in a web page or load a URL in Word, you get many hyperlinks embedded in your text. It can be extremely distracting when you inadvertently click on one and it opens a web browser.

Even after a heavy editing session, these hyperlinks remain intact, hidden under punctuation characters and any words that you had typed over the original hyperlink. Removing all of these by hand is quite monotonous, especially if there are many of them. They are very hard to find unless you use the “View Field Codes” command.
