Fuzzy Searching and Sorting
On at least five database-oriented projects that I have worked on with different clients, I have suggested and implemented the same phonetic searching and hidden sort-ordering tables in the database for making sure that data sequencing and location works properly. Only the first column in Table 15 is visible to the end user. The second column ensures that the items are sequenced correctly. The third is a search key that has been degenerated according to phonetic rules.
