We frequently need to move files from one machine to another. That’s easy when the file systems on the remote machines are shared out and we can mount them locally. That isn’t always possible, sometimes for security reasons and other times because the sharing mechanisms aren’t compatible. Perhaps we are delivering content to a customer’s server.
