Quite a few years ago, IBM and Apple were working together with Motorola to develop the PowerPC chip. IBM and Apple also had two interesting software collaborations running at the same time. Kaleida Labs was developing some interactive multimedia players (ScriptX) while Taligent concentrated on object oriented operating systems design. Ultimately both companies were absorbed back into their parent companies or disappeared into obscurity but parts of their work live on in modern systems.
