6.2. BUILDING DEVELOPMENTAL EXPERIENCES

At this point in the DLT process, you know the details of what has to be developed in your target populations. Now it is time to build the appropriate developmental experiences.

A wide range of strategies are available for creating developmental experiences. Here we will describe four that CCL research and experience show to be most relevant for developing leadership talent: developmental job assignments, developmental relationships, structured development programs, and 360-degree and personality assessment questionnaires. Each of these strategies is discussed individually, but we recommend they be used in various combinations.
