Now Playing media information and actionable notifications are great ways for existing apps to take advantage of Apple Watch features without your making the time investment in a full watch app. By harnessing these existing technologies, you can piggyback on the iPhone’s integration with Apple Watch instead of writing code for the watch itself. For many apps this brings to Apple Watch much of the functionality you’d like. For others you’ll need to create a watch app using a WatchKit extension. In the next chapter we’ll cover WatchKit extensions and start writing code for Apple Watch.
